Oh my, so sad to only now find confirmation of dear Michael's passing well over a year ago. Although not caught up in person for some years, we often spoke by phone on his annual visits to Fiona and family.
Our association began in the mid 1970's when we met as 'work neighbours' in Albert Park, where his Zoetrope Productions were based originally, before his relocation to Sydney, where we continued to enjoy regular catchups.
Michael enjoyed visits to my families farm in NE Victoria near Mansfield, and decades later when my brother moved to London, he and Michael often caught up.
I'd hoped that we may catch up again on one of his annual visits to Australia, post Covid, and very sorry now not to be.
Will carry many fond memories of times spent together over the decades, his quirky sense of humour, infectious laugh and jovial personality.
Belated condolences to Fiona and family.

I grew up on Hedger Ave., we were the Rays at #14. My brother John was a close friend of Michael's and I remember being left out of all their games on the street. I was the only five year old female on the street. I believe I used to see his newsreels when I went to Sydney with my mother.

Michael, you were my childhood playmate in Hedger Ave, Ashfield and an adult friend with whom I swapped end-of-year updates over the years. For some reason I didn't receive your 2021 update (though I did send ours), so I searched everywhere for you last year, without success. I tried again today, only to dissolve in tears on learning that you had left us. Thanks for our wonderful memories.
